Things that once seemed normal but aren't allowed now

Trust. Y'know, being trusted and trusting other people.
Everyone now simply assumes you're a murderous suicidal reckless oversensitive paedo because that's the safest thing to do.

Smoking in Pubs/Clubs

Smoking on trains

A mate would go to france and come back with bangers - don't see kids with bangers anymore

Small warnings of fag packets

Tobacco ads on billboards/magazines

Being able to build your own massive bonfire on fireworks night without someone calling 999.

Bin men being real men and hunking those low round bins with handles up onto the dustbin lorry. Then a few of them got bad backs so they replaced them with girly wheely bins :D

*Thread revival*

Being alone.

No matter where you go now you can be connected to the world almost anywhere. Yes I know it's a choice but most people are so dependent on it they wouldn't go anywhere without their phone. I'm as bad, if the missus goes out I generally ask her if she's got her phone.

Ah the days of going out and being unavailable.

10p coins the size of dinner plates

Actually respecting teachers and living in mortal fear of the head of year - let alone the headteacher!

Obsessing about sticker albums. I remember stealing from my mothers purse to complete the Mexico '86 album ;)

walking home from school - on your own and letting yourself into an empty house. Nobody does that any more without social services being called.

Another thread on here got me thinking about the time I flew to Tenerife in the early 90's. Being my first flight I asked the cabin crew mid-flight if I could see the cockpit and was allowed to. Looking back this would never be allowed now.

So what other things used to be quite normal and are now not allowed?

When I was flying to canada with my parents, my dad happened to know the pilot. I was allowed to sit in the jumpseat while they landed the plane (a 747) was so awesome. Would definetly never be allowed now though.
