Things to do and see in Berlin

I'm going to Berlin on the 30th. I'd also love to hear some suggestions of what to do while I am there.

Templehoff airport is pretty cool, makes for a nice walk (or you can hire Segway's there too).
Kreuzburg is where all the hipsters hang out. A good road for a drink is Oranienstrasse with a great Mexican for lunch there called Santa Maria. I'd recommend going here as it's a different vibe to the tourist areas in the middle.
Might be worth going up the tower at Alexander Platz for the view.
Jewish memorial, Brandenburg etc.

Visit the Reichstag although booking in advance is now necessary.
The zoo at Zoologishcer Garten is good.
Checkpoint charlie museum.
Walk along the wall gallery at Ostbahnhof.
There's a nice cocktail bar (40 or so cocktails excluding other drinks) near Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church, called Gecko.
Watch the Wyld play.
The Underground museums are good (like air raid shelters in a subway station) but a little far out.
Charlottenberg palace.
Slightly further out is Sachsenhausen concentration camp near Oranienburg.
The zoo at Zoologishcer Garten is good.
Checkpoint charlie museum.
Walk along the wall gallery at Ostbahnhof.
There's a nice cocktail bar (40 or so cocktails excluding other drinks) near Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church, called Gecko.
Watch the Wyld play.

Holocaust memorial - very interesting and sentimental. It's the only place in Berlin where it's so quite.
Museum Island - Didn't go into any of the museums but it's a cool place to hang out. Got a lovely currywurst from there
Brandenburg gate - much better a nigh when lit up, and the surrounding "government" area is also rather spectacular
Wall memorial - interesting pieces still remain, a lot of history around that area, i found it extremely interesting
Berlin Zoo - massive, also I found the tube station and bus area almost our central point for finding our way around. Some nice food places around there too
Tempelhofer park - wanted to go here, but didn't have time in the end. Would have been interesting and a chill out day. Many take a bbq and wursts to cook

I quite enjoyed a chilled Sunday at the fleamarket at Mauerpark.
The view from the top of the Reichstag is amazing, but you'll need to queue for a ticket the day before!

Augustiner is good for Currywurst and liters of beer:

Yaam is a pretty cool bar/fake beach area:

This area was good for drinks, had a big open bar area and music playing most of the time, had a small gallary and a dingy club area that had a live band playing on the friday.

The Brandenburg gate gate is worth checking out at night, looks cool when it's all lit up.

East side gallary is definitely worth a walk a long, we actually went to Yaam, then walked along the east side gallery to Urban spree. We didn't bother trying to get into Berghain, I've got a friend that goes to Berlin for Berghain semi-regularly and he said that he has found the best time to go and get in is late on the Sunday (2-4am) and even then it is risky, he mentioned that Tresor and about:blank are similar but can be easier to get into, if you do try to get it in make sure you have a backup plan and be prepared to queue for a few hours.

Never been but a few things on my list which are less mainstream
MauerPark on a Sunday, people and groups play music and vinyl flemarket just looks random and fun.
Friedrichshain to see some street art.
There's also a bridge, where bands turn up and play music till early hours and street vendors selling beer. Looks awesome and people just hanging around like an outside pub, for life of me can't remember where I saw this, some youtube video probably.

I was in Berlin at the end of August, by far the best thing we did was go to Street food thursday. I can't find much official info other than the facebook page but it was outstanding https://www.facebook.com/StreetFoodThursday

Thanks for the tip and the alternatives. Yeah I hear berghain is notoriously hard to get into and plenty of attractive well dressed people get turned away just because the bouncers aren't feeling their vibe....
Sounds decent, will have to try and find it.
