Friend is running the marathon, so we were going to go along and show our support.

I've done this before for another friend years ago and the reality is, you don't really get to see them much.

So we thought between them running past and then hours later, finishing, that we would go somewhere away from the Marathon and get some lunch or visit somewhere. Any suggestions?

Will be driving in to Westfield Stratford, so first thought was maybe go to Spittlefields market to have a wander around and get some lunch.

Sadly can't be drinking as I have to drive back later.

take the wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/other half with you. maybe you can take them to musuem or some kind of tourist attraction while marathon is going

Wear a "just stop oil" shirt and throw paint on the runners.

Serious answer - I'd be looking at museums, or take the fam to Harrods for lunch or something.

Brick lane is near..
Whitechapel, Aldgate ... Jack the ripper tour? :p
I used to work around there and tbh it's pretty meh. Hope it's got better.
Camden is a couple of stops on the tube from Liverpool Street. Plenty of tat and weirdos to see there. Plenty of street food stalls.

Sorry, I didn't mean it to read like: "I need more from you"

I just meant I'll have a lot of hours to kill and Spittlefields will only fill some of it. I'm not too au-fait with the area.
