Things you did before computers?

Crying, Lego, Dismantling unsafe electronics.

My Brother an I had RC cars which we would sellotape knives and spoons to, and have a nice game of robot wars in the kitchen.

Also had a little toy train set that i built around my lego town and lego men would board the freight train to other locations. The majority of them were brutally murdered in derailing incidents.

I had a load of those little science kits as well. Just used to mix everything really and try to make explosives.

We all used to build things, these days they don't have a clue. My parents didn't spend a lot yet I had so many different thing to do. :)

I think it's the parents that lack the imagination tbh.. It's too easy for them just to chuck an ipad or a console at a 7 or an 8 year old because they can't think of what to get them. It's of mutual benefit too as it keeps them quiet. You can't avoid consoles and modern tech forever but you have to let kids be kids.

Both my kids (now 19 and 18) had their first TVs on their 10th birthdays and their first console when they were 13. Being that bit older now I think they appreciate this principle because at the time, they didn't know any better and made the best of what they had.

My first home PC was 1990 when I was 38.

Before then, motorcycles, women, drink and other consumables one at a time or all together. Boring really :)

I Gurgled and Pooped a lot!

Lego, Airfix kits, dens and playing in the woods (didn't even get raped, boo!), air guns, go karting, hiding in bushes waiting for that mysterious playboy or hustler to be found.

I'm too young to have experienced this, I imagine is must have been pretty embarrassing. What did you do if somebody you knew walked in?

The walk of shame walking up to the counter with it... try your best to ensure that no one was around to witness it lol.... you should at least experience doing it once in your life lol

I used to ride around a lot on my Raleigh Burner. Actually, I used to injure myself on it a lot trying to do stupid things. :D

Kickabouts outside,
Prank phone calls to friends and family (sorry!),
Reading lots of books,
Climbing trees,
Climbing all over the local ruins,
Burning ants with a magnifying glass (still feel guilty!)
Making fizzy and explosive stuff with chemicals,
etc...
