Think I have a failed hard drive??

So for the past few weeks my computer has been getting horribly slow, even with windows installed on my SSD.

Until yesterday I had no idea what the cause of it was but I turned on my pc last night and noticed in 'my computer' that one of my HDDs was displayed but looked like it hadn't been formatted (no volume size) and when clicking on it, it would be horribly slow and make my whole computer hang.

I detached it from my mobo and PSU and my pc is now running fast again. Do you think this hard drive has died or what are the chances it's a dodgy sata cable or something else? I feel that since it's been slowing my pc down for a while it's probably just the HDD has died?

I will play around with it after work and see but just trying to weigh up whether to just buy a new one.

Thanks for any help!

Youve got nothing to loose by trying a new sata cable but its probably the drive mate
