So I just upgraded my system with a DFI nf4 ultra-d and a 1900xt.
I diecided my year old PSU could probably cut the mustard and didn't bother getting a new one.
Anyway I go to power on this morning and the thing won't come on until I flick the power switch at the back a few times and press the power button exactly as I flick the switch to on.
When I couldn't get the machine to power on I checked and the motherboard and it did have a power light on it.
The PSU is only rated at 21 amps so I figure my box (has an x-fi, wireless lan, x1900, oc'd opteron, 2 hd's and a dvd drive) could really do with a power boost.
In all fairness before I upgraded I was only using an x800 pro and used powered my dvd drive externally.
So what's the best PSU to go for? I'm looking for one that's not a bank breaker but has more than enough amps to get the job done as well as offering my components some protection from surges (if that's a possibility).
Thanks.
