Think about December the 12th got pulled over by the police, i done the stupid thing of not moving my insurance over from my xr2i to my mk7 fez so from what they could see i was uninsured, not intentionally of course and i think they realized that since my insurance company said "yes you can drive any car you want on your policy, even if it is under your own name" second time they called they said no you cannot, you can drive others just not your own. The police officer said he would back me up on this as obviously he got that response when he called them. This was even written down on their report, I'd changed my insurance over there and then in front of them and was allowed to drive away as they said i may get a letter summoning me to court within the month (from what i heard they're supposed to tell you in 14 days of the incident)

Its now starting to come up 2 months so from what i can see I'm in the clear. Am i right to think this?

They have 6 months. I'd be suprised if you've been lucky as its an absolute offence - not bothering to understand your insurance policy isn't a defence, neither is relying on a muppet at a call centre.

Ignorance is no defence, I can't see how they can "overlook" something that you have already been booked for?

If you can't rely on the people representing the company providing your insurance who can you rely on?

Surely the conversation will have been recorded (though will probably 'disappear') and can be named as evidence?
