As above guys, i was playing BF4 no problem on ultra like ive done for the last few months, then during a game the screen went blank and the comp froze, so reset, back into the game again, lasted about 10-15 mins then the same again, so i went and updated my drivers, and went into a different game... one with a high tick rate... if that matters... played in there lots of times. Should note that my card usually gets hot so 3rd time round i manually put the fan speed to 90%, game ran fine for 30 mins then same thing.... now this time when I reset and got to the log in screen, there where black lines over it, and the speakers had this god awful loud distortion through them....

I have now disabled the card as now it wont let me work on the desktop/chrome for more than 5 mins before going black again, im on on board now 20 mins no black screen

anyone any ideas???

my card is an R9 290x gaming twin frozr

got it off ebay 2nd hand, buyer claims it was 5 months old, its now 7 if hes right, would I still be able to send it to MSI or im i snookered?

Go check if the GPU is already registered on MSI's website, if it's not you might be in a bit of luck.

im screwed anyway, when I was cleaning the dust of the card to box it, there is a bit star screw driver shaped tear in on a sticker covering a spring loaded screw saying warranty void if removed..... great £200 gone

I wouldn't worry about that, they usually accept returns with the warranty void sticker removed anyway.

Check to see if the card has been registered on the MSI website, ask the guy you bought it off on eBay for the original invoice.

Right or wrong, you could always label over the purchasers details as your own, who will ever know? lol :)

Perhaps the person you bought it off will help with RMA.
