i have an XFX GTX 285 GPU

i just looked at the cost from where i got it from and noticed it says my memory clock should be at 2484Mhz... if i look in evga precision is says my memmory clock is at 1331 and the max i can make it is 2000 (which i dairn't set incase it crashes)

am i getting things mixed up? if so how do i find out the true memory clock speed of my gpu??

also whilst i am here, whats the best clocks i should be able to get out of this card?

thanks

I wouldn't worry, here are the quoted specs -

Memory Clock (Clock rate / Data rate)
1242 MHz / 2484 MHz

The second number is the "effective" speed - ie the one they advertise. The first number is the actual speed - ie the one you will see on evga precision. I'm pretty sure this is because it uses DDR type ram "dual data rate".

ok thats cool well here are my current overclocks:

core clock - 709
shader clock - 1587
memmory clock - 1331
fan speed - 80%

i use furmark adn in game testing to find any artifacts or decrease in performance,

how would i go about increasing the overclock greater?
should it be increments of 5 and leave the shader clock alone?
will i gain much more performance if i continue?

thanks :)

It's 2484 MHz effective RAM speed. It is DDR, which means double data rate. That means it can perform 2 memory operations per clock cycle. It's actual rate it therefore 1242 Mhz. That's pretty standard in all graphics cards.
