thinking about upgrading my cpu mobo?

Current system is in my sig what would you go for next?

would i need to change mobo? or could i just go for cpu?

haven't thought about any budget yet but i know it wont be cheap

whats your thoughts?

Is it overclocked at all? If not, tbh id just clock it up and keep it till something offering much better performance comes along. A 2700k is still a pretty powerful cpu and the move to anything current wont offer very large gains.

no i generally dont over clock as i dont know much about it?

The overclocking section on here and googling guides for your particular mobo and cpu combo. Im afraid im not very familiair with sandybridge clocking myself.

Your machine is good. Overclock it ... the alternative as you're suggesting is to spend a few hundred quid only to gain a couple of more fps. Not worth it imho

As per everyone else said, it's still a great CPU and that mobo seems pretty decent too.
