Thinking of buying a Wii

As title, I'm considering getting a wii - a few games so far on my "must have" list are:

Resident Evil Chronicles
RE4 (possibly... own it on cube / pc...)
Mario 1 and 2
Zelda (possibly)
TVC
Metroid Prime (all of 'em).

Anything else I'm missing?
 
Pikmin 1 and 2 if you don’t have them of the cube.

as for re4 it has all the extras that the ps2 port had and its widescreen, so its a step up and well worth playing

If you get the motion plus then Red Steel 2 is a must.

I'm actually not sure I'd be able to handle pikmin 1 and 2. I think I'd go insane from the cuteness.

I'm not sure about red steel... people said the first one was hit and miss... is the second better?
 
What's wrong with HotD:Overkill? It's short admittedly, but absolutely bloody brilliant.

And supposedly the second Red Steel's pretty good. First was dire though, don't get them confused!

Pikmin's not that cutesy either.
 
Came in here to suggest Metroid Prime, but I see it's already on your list. The Trilogy boxset is epic. They're such great games.

I've never really been a major fan of the light game genre. I played Virtua Cop and Time Crisis when I was younger... but got bored really fast! :p
 
Ah, fair enough, if light gun games aren't you thing, then I guess it wouldn't be for you. I loved it though.

Lost Winds 1 & 2 are excellent. Other than those mentioned, check out the latest Boom Blox if you're after a party game -it's awesome with 4 or more people - and Punch Out. Don't listen to Knives - a good deal of the best fun i've had gaming this gen has been on the Wii :)

Think I know why... don't be fooled by the gimmick of the machine. All this fitness and move around rubbish..

If you really want the console for gaming, then go for it, but if you feel it'll get the family moving - well forget it..

PS3 and the recent move controllers will satisfy that urge, and then you'll be left with a gaming machine that has HD graphics and some good exclusives...

Gf got a Wii, played for about two months, and now it gathers dust.. Useless purchase.
 
Ah there's the wii bashing crowd, what took you, your normally a lot more efficient than this :confused:

From the list i don’t think they want it for fitness games rather the games that are only on wii

If you don’t like light gun games i would give Dead space a miss as well, because it is one, it a damn good light gun tho.

The 1st red steel is truly dire, as long as toilet paper is cheaper i wouldn’t recommend it to any one, the 2nd is good tho.
 
I'm in the crowd that feels that the Wii is a waste of space. With that said Mario Galaxy is one of the finest plat-formers i've played in years, i'm yet to play the sequel but i hear that's even better.

Not as worthless as the Wii. It'll be even more redundant when Microsoft and Sony follow up with their bandwagon gimmicks :)

You ever notice that there are no Wii threads on the forum, except for this one? That's a rhetorical question by the way.

I should add that your pitiful response could also be construed as equally worthless, perhaps even worse as it did not even attempt a stab at humour :)

Whatever.

There's good games for the Wii, though not as many as for the 360 or PS3. Fine. That doesn't mean there aren't still good games for the Wii.

Proof that the general taste around here is questionable? Or that people are too busy playing MW2! (which also supports my first point ;))

Take away multiplatform games and the Wii arguably has the best exclusives. I certainly spend more time on it when friends come round to visit. Either way, who'd want to not be playing Galaxy, Sin and Punishement, Zelda ....
