Thinking of getting a 360 elite

Just wondering, if I hook it up to my TV with HDMI, what interface can I hook up to my sound system?

I have a 37" TV, muted, with a home theatre system (DVD player + speakers). Got Sky+HD hooked up HDMI to the TV and red/white to the speakers at the mo. Does the 360 have the same option, ideally with some kind of 5.1 interface separate from the HDMI for the video?

I assume there must be, since the sound on most flat TV's is shocking, since they lack room for deep cones.

Red and White connector comes with the Elite box (Did with mine), but not sure how you personally want to set it up, if your 5.1 has more than one Aux input you should be ok but if not you might need a splitter or constant changing.

If I remember right (In work right now) it has an optical out for 5.1 sound.

It comes witht the adapter cable for the optical out, but you need to buy the actual toslink cable yourself.

Yeah it comes with an adapter that has both optical and phono connections on it which plugs in just underneath the hdmi socket

Make sure you get a "Jasper" version if you buy one.
