Thinking of getting a console? But which/what one?

First ever post in here I think

I fancy getting console but not sure what is best 360 or PS3?

My twin brother has a PS3 so I suppose that would be the logical answer so we could hock up?

Best places to buy at the moment?

In all seriousness this is how the thread will go;

- Generic PS3/360 fanboy comment
- 6 people quoting, stating the obvious
- Someone will quote irrelevant technical specs of either console
- 2/3 will counter this, quoting the entire post each time
- Someone will add the price of every single peripheral the console they like the least has to offer as claim this as the cost of the console.
- So on and so fourth.

Get either, get any, get both, it doesn't matter, save £350 and get both, grab a lovefilm sub and start digging into those back catalogs, you've missed a lot.

If your bro has a PS3 and you want to play online i'd say that, always try to get the console that most of your mates have as online play is the most touted feature of consoles this generation. If you're not fussed about playing online with him, do you guys go over eachothers places much? If so then maybe a 360 would be a good idea for the 'best of both worlds' experience.

On a personal note i prefer the PS3 as it just feels like a better media centre as well as being a good console, if media playback (namely bluray) is important to you it's well worth looking into.

I may opt for the PS3 as I have played a few games on his and enjoyed them, graphics looks fantastic on my Samsung too...

Which is the best driving game on the PS3 at the moment would you say?

You into realism or arcade?

Realism, i'd say Ferrari Challenge or F1 Championship. Gran Turismo Prologue is good for the money but i wouldn't rate it as a full game.

Arcade, Grid, Burnout Paradise or Motorstorm Pacific Rift

If you go for the realism route, a Logitech Driving Force GT steering wheel is a must or, if you're loaded, a Logitech G25

A little advice to you, spend some time doing your own research and ask actual questions that can be answered. Don't just ask which console to buy. How are we supposed to know exactly what you really want?

Good point, like I said I'm not a console gamer so a bit up in the air about the hole subject!
