Thinking of getting a console? But which/what one?

Hi guys

First ever post in here I think :D

I fancy getting console but not sure what is best 360 or PS3?

My twin brother has a PS3 so I suppose that would be the logical answer so we could hock up?

Best places to buy at the moment?

From my experience I would say 360. Microsoft are really trying hard with this one and the number of games available is brilliant.
 
In all seriousness this is how the thread will go;

- Generic PS3/360 fanboy comment
- 6 people quoting, stating the obvious
- Someone will quote irrelevant technical specs of either console
- 2/3 will counter this, quoting the entire post each time
- Someone will add the price of every single peripheral the console they like the least has to offer as claim this as the cost of the console.
- So on and so fourth.

Get either, get any, get both, it doesn't matter, save £350 and get both, grab a lovefilm sub and start digging into those back catalogs, you've missed a lot.
 
If your bro has a PS3 and you want to play online i'd say that, always try to get the console that most of your mates have as online play is the most touted feature of consoles this generation. If you're not fussed about playing online with him, do you guys go over eachothers places much? If so then maybe a 360 would be a good idea for the 'best of both worlds' experience.

On a personal note i prefer the PS3 as it just feels like a better media centre as well as being a good console, if media playback (namely bluray) is important to you it's well worth looking into.

I may opt for the PS3 as I have played a few games on his and enjoyed them, graphics looks fantastic on my Samsung too...

Which is the best driving game on the PS3 at the moment would you say?

Serious driving? Not sure I'm afraid, not really into them. Motorstorm:Pacific Rift is great fun though!

Please refer to previous threads relating to this matter, as there are already many, many opinions (or as they are sometimes viewed 'facts') in many, many threads.

You into realism or arcade?

Realism, i'd say Ferrari Challenge or F1 Championship. Gran Turismo Prologue is good for the money but i wouldn't rate it as a full game.

Arcade, Grid, Burnout Paradise or Motorstorm Pacific Rift

If you go for the realism route, a Logitech Driving Force GT steering wheel is a must or, if you're loaded, a Logitech G25
 
My god not another one of these threads.

A little advice to you, spend some time doing your own research and ask actual questions that can be answered. Don't just ask which console to buy. How are we supposed to know exactly what you really want?

Get uncharted to get into it before the second one comes out...

Heavenly Sword is also awesome...

Download Battlefield 1943, and join lots of us...

Prince of Persia...

GT is coming out soon(supposedly if your into that)

Good point, like I said I'm not a console gamer so a bit up in the air about the hole subject!

xbox 360 i have both havent touched my ps3 in 6months

get gears of war 2 and own ppl but make sure you get a jasper core:D

my falcon core may be coming to the end of its life:(
 
Between the 2 consoles if i had to give up one i would keep the PS3 & let the 360 go.

Upscaler second to none.
1080P 36Bit screen mode support.
Can plug in a standard USB KB & mouse & some Wireless versions. good for chat & the webbrowser.
My Logitech G25 Racing Wheel works with it.
Online is free.
Love VidZone with 1000's of free music videos from Sony's catalogue.

360

I like the controller more.

wow, you must be a sells rep or something? You like totally sold me on a 360 dude. I'm going to get a jasper and gears so I can own lots of noobies.

I'd get a Wii. Controls are really innovative in a number of games.

Mario Kart Wii is amazing. So is:
Super Paper Mario
Super Mario Galaxy
Smash Brothers Brawl
Resident Evil 4
Zelda Twilight Princess
Smoothmoves

Wii Sports Resort due soon which looks awesome as well as the New Super Mario Brothers.
