thinking of getting a iphone/blackberry to use with o2 sim?

Ok i have a 500 mins/1000 text contract with unlimited wap data. i was thinking of buying a blackberry or a iphone from the bay. Was wondering how that will work with the wap and my minutes/wap, has anyone got any experience on this?

What network are you with? Best thing to do is phone your provider and enquire.

i'm on o2 and have 6 months of my contract left was thinking of buying an iphone and using my current o2 sim card

You'll have to be moved to a iphone contract iirc.

So if you're an O2 customer and have a contract, then buy a PAYG iphone3g you can't use your contract sim in it from the off?

i think it has two sims or needs some sort of ghost card to work (or hacked)

You need a specific iPhone sim, we've had to get a client to get a new sim at work...

Yeah you can. Take any SIM you like (except 3). Unlock the iPhone and then put your SIM in. Easy.

You can configure the network settings on the iPhone to use one of the o2 wap networks. It won't be quite as quick as the one that's programed into the phone when you get it on contract but it will still be useable.

I bought a iphone second hand. Then I moved to an O2 simplicity contract from Orange (600 mins, 1200 texts unlimited web for £20 on a monthly contract).

Works fine.

Also tried a PAYG O2 SIM whilst i was waiting for my SIM to come through. Worked fine.

EDIT - Sorry missed the WAP bit - not sure how that works - sorry.

yeah i get unlimited wap on my o2 contract and just wondered how it would work. might as well wait for the 3rd gen iphone now, i hear it's june
