Hi ya

I’m thinking of getting a joystick for some flying games, such as flight simulator x and X3: Reunion

Saitek X52 Flight Controller And Throttle Joystick (PS28)
Saitek X52 Pro Flight Controller And Throttle Joystick (PS34)

I’m thinking of getting either one of these two, is it worth the extra for the pro, has any one got any experience with them.

Thx so much in advance

I personally prefer using a yoke for flight sim X the saitek one is very good http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/yoke.htm I'd say it all depends on what kind of planes you want to fly and how fussed you are about realism. If it's just a stick you want and haven't had a lot of experience using them then try out the SPEEDLINK Black Widow Flight Stick Controller, they're cheap and decent enough.

I have the Pro, great stick but I'm not convinced it's worth the extra over the vanilla 52.

I use the X52 Pro. My friend said when he tried the "non pro" version, it felt flimsy, so if you have the money, and/or the dedication, I'd get the X52 pro along with the rudder pedals.

I personally recommend the Vanilla X52, unless you start using it for Arcade Flight games, it should be fine for standard FSX use. Save yourself the money for perhaps some rudder pedals or nicer FSX software addons, like REX etc.

I started off with the X52 & FSX vanilla, was happy with it but found I was getting very much into learning and enjoying flight simulation so over 2 years I ended up adding to it:

Having used both i would say there isnt much difference between them, the Pro does feel abit stronger made and i find the spring in the Pro stiffer then the normal X52.

Both are great sticks and im sure you will enjoy which ever you choose.

thx for the advice, sweet set up soya think i will go for the pro, looks a bit nicer and stronger, what are they like controling helecopter in fsx?

Pretty good, obviously a better choice for heli flying then a yoke system. Again, the X52 or Pro are great for any aircraft or heli flying in flight sims, the software allows for any button assignment and the X52 does have rudder twist control. So you should be set, good luck.
