question about q9300

which of these mobo is better for q9300 Asus Maximus Formula Intel X38 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard or Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 Intel X38 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard im a noobie to overclocking just leave em on auto when i overclock i do a little gaming and encoding is this better then wolfdale 3.0g core 2 duo ???? cant decide dont wanna upgrade again for a good bit ?
and will the q9300 overclock on auto to 3.0 or 3.2 on auto setting on either of these boards and will artic pro 7 cooler be ok with mobos ?

CustomPC mag ripped the hell out of the Q9300. Poor clocker, poor performance and more expensive than a Q6600 which will clock miles further.

Yeah, I read that same CPC review. Buy the Q6600 instead.
