im currently thinking of upgrading but cant decide, im currently running a 3year old system of

intel E6400
gigabyte 965p
2gb G.skill 6400 hz
Ati 1900GT 256mb

the graphics card is more or less gone as im getting artifacts and lockups all the time, ive got about £400-500 to spend and was wondering if its gonna be worth while changing the memory cpu and mobo or just upgrade the graphics card. the only thing im worried about is the system temps, my current temps are cpu-35-40 idle and gpu-mid 60's idle. the system sits next to the computer desk side so theres only airflow to 1 side of the system and the rear of the case is close to a wall so theres not a lot of airflow there too. ive got no where else to put it so im stuck there. should i look at extra cooling maybe?

what case/cpu cooler/psu do you currently use ?

as an aside if thats ok i'd maybe look at 8400 processor, gigabyte p45 mobo, cpu cooler (something like the noctua), ati 4870/ nvidia 260 gfx card.

case looks fine, try easing it slightly away from the wall/desk to allow a little bit of air flow.

came up with the following, depending on your screen size /resolution etc you use maybe swap the 4890 for 4870/nvidia 260.

No mention of PSU so unless its new have a look at the coolermaster 520w/620w.

to keep the price down a bit left the processor as the 6400, maybe try overclocking it a touch with the new cpu cooler.

Not 100% sure the noctua can fit in your case so get confirmation before ordering.
