So i have been thinking of upgrading my pc for a while now but not sure if its worth it overall. So instead of me going ahead and doing it ill first ask for advice from all of you on this forum. Should i upgrade or wait for next gen cpu's/mobo's to come out.
Would there be any advantage in upgrading to newer gen or should i wait little longer?

My current spec is:
Intel i7 3930k
Asus Rampage IV Extreme
Corsair Dominator Platinum 1866 4x4gb
EVGA Gtx Titan 6gb
Corsair 860i psu
Samsung 850 evo 250gb main drive
Hitachi 2TB HDD
WD Green 1TB HDD

When deciding whether to upgrade the first question most people need to answer what am I missing out on or lacking with my current system? There will always be something new coming out so if you’re current system isn’t meeting your needs then pull the plug, otherwise wait until it doesn’t.

That said I’d probably upgrade motherboard, CPU, and RAM. It’s probably very late 2019 or 2020 before anything earth shattering will arrive, the next big technologies will be PCIE 5.0 and DDR5 RAM and 7nm AMD or 10nm Intel CPU’s.

In terms of GPU I would definitely wait out this new generation and wait for the new 7nm cards from nVidia or AMD in the next 12-18 months.

Final consideration is whether it’s better to upgrade in stages, do you want to pay £2,500 in a single year on a whole new system as what you have is high end for its time.
