So I have had my 5820K setup for just about a year now and haven't had any need to overclock it, but with RyZen now out I was in two minds about upgrading to a 1700 setup. However I thought I would give overclocking my 5820K a go (Below are my current settings)

- Memory voltage at 1.25v
- Memory set to 2666Mhz (was a 2400mhz rated 16GB kit)
- CPU overclock in "all core mode"
- Max CPU multi set to 43
- BCLK set to 100 / auto
- CPU max voltage set to 1.1 (seems to show as maxing out at 1.126 in CPUZ)

With this i can run the Intel burn test fine for multiple runs (on high) and temperature seems to settle at 75c

Below is how the system is running now :

Pretty happy with these results, but does anyone have any advise on improving this setup or any issues that stand out to anyone ?

Thanks in advance :D

I would be wary of stepping over to Ryzen. A decently overclocked Haswell-e /Broadwell-e is still a faster platform and as it is at the moment a far more stable platform. Whilst that wont always be the case with future Ryzen cpu's right now switching from X99- Ryzen is madness. As for your overclock, push it further if you have the cooling, and if you want more cores keep an eye out for a 5960x or 6900k, bargins can be had ! :)

Cheers, yeah ill keep my eye out for a 2nd hand 5960x or 6900k, to be honest saving money on ryzen will give me the chance to get the top end vega card when its here :D

And yeah i could also get a custom loop installed to give me the cooling for a bit more speed (and a cooler PC in general)
