What is this?

Just paid a fiver for FIFA and get this message.

So what does this mean?

What is Authorised for use?

What should I look for in the app store?

How can I know this in avance?

I've been an apple user for years and just bought my first andriod tablet never had anything like this with apple.

Finally how do I get my 4.75 euros back from google?

Go to app in playstore and click refund. You have 15 minutes.

EA have their own antipiracy measures which have backfired probably.

Very poor reviews from what I can see.

Hey thanks for quick replies.

It's a tablet from amazon.

bought FIFA 12 a few hours ago but was too busy to test it as it took ages to download just left it running and installed then had to go out.

So well past and 15 minute limit it took longer than 15 mins to download.

They store recommends reinstall so i'll try that.

My tablet is on 4.0.2 version of andriod.

If it doesn't work again then I'll ask for a refund.

The play store on the PC says it is compatible.

The problem here is not android. The problem here is you bought a game from EA. The reviews from all their stuff on the app stores will show you that you should stay away from them.

Is it a normal retail tablet from Amazon themselves or some cheapo rooted Chinese tablet from one of their 3rd party sellers which has had Google Play sideloaded?

Nice background Grudas, although I think your looking for a different thread :p.

Edit: nice menu as well, what's it called? :)

yes it's i cheapo chinese version but i got my 4 euros 75 eurocents back from google so all is again well in the world :D

Can't really compare the experience to an iPad then! Google Play store isn't approved on these cheapo devices and the sellers normally put an open version of it on themselves so there is always a risk.

FIFA probably checks for root or something, which you wouldn't have out of the box on a 'normal' tablet.

Ahh i'm intrigued what do you mean isn't approved?

ie not guaranteed to work?

And open version so is there other versions of andriod and do I need to mess around with the software to get apps to work?

All seems very linux like.

Essentially, Android itself is free, but if manufacturers want to use Google's ecosystem (such as Maps, GMail and the Play Store), they must adhere to a certain set of guidelines. Because Android is open source, sneaky chinese manufacturers release devices that are underpowered or strangely configured, and do not meet Google's requirements.

However, what you've most likely run up against here is EA being rubbish. When you download FIFA from the Play Store, all you actually download are the base files. You then need to download the game content separately direct from EA. When this happens, EA tries to check what device you're running and seems to serve you the appropriate content for the device. If there's anything vaguely weird about the device, it carps out. I tried to install FIFA on my Nexus 7 with tablet mode enabled yesterday, and because the DPI was non-standard, it wouldn't work.

Short story = EA sucks. Other game developers = better

Ah so it's EA's fault.

Think i'll try to install PES then if it's available.

The tablet is a 1GHz 8GB version it should be able to handle games made for mobile phones.
