Hi Guys,

Just built the following

Abit IP35-E
Q6600
2GB Geil 800MHZ
ATI 3870 XT 512
250GB SATA
etc etc

I've updated to the latest BIOS and everything is setup right and running fine but when I run CPU-Z it looks like this

What could be wrong? would you worry about it?

Cheers

Definitely speedstep. Normal multiplier = 9.

Yours is showing X6.

Disable intel speedstep technology in your BIOS.

:)

Speedstep is there to save power when your not doing much, so it lowers the multiplier. Just clearing that up in case you didn't know. It goes full power when the CPU starts to get some load.

You need to disable C1E and EIST, not sure were it is on your motherboard, it's a case of going through each bit.

No, keep speedstep enabled, when your cpu isn't under much load it lowers the multiplier and saves power, but as soon as it is under load it raises it again. It's a good feature that won't cost you any performance but will save power. Keep it enabled :).

Not if you are overclocking.:D

Judging by his CPU selection and the rest of his kit, he will be. If not its criminal :D:D

My cpu is overclocked and I still have it running :). If your overclocking and run into problems then it's worth disabling it to see if it helps, but for me it works fine with my overclock. No good reason not to use it if your not having problems really.
