This infuriates me

What is the big deal. Lots of small time businesses/tradesmen have a "host and forget" website as a way to advertise and just use AOL/GMail/Hotmail etc for their emails.

EDIT: Nice private plate they have there too. :p

The AOL email most likely predates the website by a long stretch, hence keeping it. Although yes they could have forwarded mail from that instead.

All domains can have email. DNS resource records are a fundamental part of the Domain Name System, and MX records are one type of record.

Your registrar is probably **** and probably holding the mail exchange options hidden until you pay an extra fee.

Love u xx

Sure, and considering how cheap you can get hosting for like from £15 a year from a good provider like TSOHost which comes with email, there's really no excuse.

OP, think of it as an easy way to identify which companies are unprofessional, and therefore shouldn't get any business from you, that's how I see it.

You guys are forgetting, they have prob had that email address for nearly 20 years, that means paperwork with it on, 20 years of advertising/business cards with it on, etc, etc. If they change to a @domain forwarder then it means either redoing all the stationary and having all the vehicles re-signed or going through an ugly transition period where their running round giving two addresses to people until the older stuff runs out. Sometimes it is easier to just stick with what works.

AOL didn't become mainstream in the UK until 1995

"We are your local coach hire specialist established in Hull since 1993"

So I presume they had no email for a period of their business.

What they should have done is change the email when they bought the domain and setup the website. To suggest paperwork prevented this is ludicrous.:D

EDIT : They have a presence on Facebook etc...there really is no excuse to tie themselves to branding of another company in this day and age.:p

You could easily set up forwarding from the other email, so any email sent to the AOL inbox would end up at the new address. Then, just wait until all the business cards etc are used up and print more with the new email on. Easy.
