It's just another form of advertising, but worse. Its such ********, yet suckers seem to fall for it all, not so much kids because they don't understand it, like you say thats why it should be banned.

Another reason for the new online bill to come into play with further age restrictions and content behind logins.

Is it really going to have to come to this before people realise how dangerous the net is.
All so innocent on the front face of it but behind the scenes there's some really bad things happening.

Yep, needs to be some much tougher restrictions put in place on influencers and also online betting for that matter (particularly how its advertised everywhere). The internet really is like a wildwest in some cases.

More nannying from State, is that what you really want?

Influences online are bad. If influences are paid to do something they do it especially when money is involved. It should have been banned a long time ago before it got to the state it is now.

Agreed, but how about more parents provide a proper role model for their children to look up to instead of these fake idols?

I'm not sure I trust people any more and it's apparent something needs to be done. If a nanny state means protection for innocent people then I'm all for it. If it doesn't happen then a lot more people are going to get away with a lot more stuff.

The question boils down to two things.
A) Do you want people to keep getting away with stuff more and more online?
B) Protect innocent people because people really can't be trusted.

Sadly kids are obsessed with these influencers. Look at Molly May, she calls her kid Bambi or some such nonsense and the kids are all like ‘this is amazing, she’s amazing’. Strange times. Went into the wrong profession clearly.
Children need to be individual and stop being sheep.

I hardly was sucked into trends as a child.

People should not copy celebrities with anything.

Problem is when people be individual they may stand out a lot more, and a lot of people don't like standing out from a crowd.

Introvert and extraverts comes to mind.
Never (and still) find Friends funny. Yet all my friends found it hilarious.

Listened to Genesis, Pink Floyd, Beatles etc as a child. Did have the odd album of then the top acts of the day. But listened to the former more.

I feel your pain. Its a rare and welcome surprise nowadays when a company does do something competently.
I have been noticing this a lot lately, it is incredibly frustrating.

Got my wheels balanced, not balanced right, tonne of weights on them, vibrates over 60...

Had a wardrobe delivered, delivery people nearly drop it. Open it, and find its broken an wasn't made properly.

Bought a TV from Amazon and it has dead pixels.

Bought a jar of banoffee curd from a local farm store, it was lemon curd with the wrong label.

Order stuff from ebay, the wrong items get delivered.

Even the sodding post, the postman delivered it to the people who used to live here at their new address despite it clearly not having their name on it, thinking he was "helping".

The guy I used to transport my car had no idea how to load it.

The removal company broke stuff.

And then theres all the mechanics I've dealt with who installed things incorrectly or bodged them, delivery drivers who steal packages or throw them on the roof, customer support representatives who aren't even trained to deviate from their script, nobody, NOBODY, seems to be able to make something to a good standard or do their job properly anymore.

@Acme

At one call centre, I was pulled aside after a call. The manager said I used too much customer service! If didn’t put that effort in, the customer would have left us. Plus he’s one of the bigger accounts.

I was the one that kept the customer still using our services.

Managers are just justifying their own jobs. Don't take it personal. I've had the same thing, I told em to stop been such a **** and I left that same week cos they were pulling people in for absolutely no reason at all. This is the sort of tricks they pull.

Problem is some call centre jobs, you get just TWO, I repeat TWO days of training which doesn't bode well for customers and staff.

I kept applying for First Direct when I lived in Wakefield and Leeds, as one of their call centres is between the two by J40 M1 Needed 9 clear weeks of no holidays, concerts etc. Always had something going on.

I don't think I've ever been in a job where training has been on going, people are always thrown in the deep end as soon as they start a new job.

It's either sink or swim.

Strange day yesterday, had a job to deliver two boxes from ward 227 to A-Block. So gets there expecting it to be a couple of boxes of legal paperwork, patient notes or something similar. Ended up delivering two empty cardboard boxes to a @SexyGreyFox

Sorry to hear you have been fired @SexyGreyFox :( (I presume these are like, Enron style "I have been fired" boxes).

It was brilliant to meet you Malevolence, you looked nothing like what I expected.
I've put those boxes to good use, I threw all the Covid Conspiracy crap in there.
