I just want to confirm all this stuff will work together. Or would ye recommend anything else.
The only part I'm keeping from old pc is GPU.. an Nvidia GTX 970.

CPU: amd Ryzen 5 2600
MOBO: AORUS AMD Ryzen X470 Ultra Gaming AM4 ATX Motherboard
RAM: 2x 8Gb DDR 4 @2933 dual channel
PSU: Corsair AX760 760W Modular Power Supply
CASE: Fractal Design Define XL R2 Full Tower
HDD: CORSAIR MP510 960GB PCIe M.2 SSD

Im an indie game dev, So I will use it to run a multitude of programs, like Unity, visual studio, photoshopm after effects (videp editing), and also play games on it.
I'm hoping it will be reasonable quiet, when I'm not gaming.
Also at some point I can upgrade the GPU and get one that will do VR (and also play Cyberpunk 2077) eg. an Nvidia RTX 2070
Also at some point I could add a self contained watercooling system to CPU if I wanted it even quieter, and even overclock it.

Hi and welcome to the forums. :)

Do you have any of those components already? If not I would change the memory and psu. Ryzen loves fast memory to get the most out of the platform. I would go for a 16Gb 3200mhz kit and OCUK has some on special offer at the moment. On top of that they offer them in Ryzen bundles and pre-builts so we know it works with Ryzen.

The PSU is a good one but is overpriced. You don't need to spend anywhere near that much to get a quality, efficient psu. I would be looking at the Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 750w or the Antec High Current Gamer (gold rated version) 750w. Both are essentially the same psu as Seasonic builds the Antec HCG and it is basically a Focus Plus Gold in a different case. Both have a 10 year warranty and both are fully modular. The Antec is out of stock here at the moment though so I didn't include it in the basket. If you really want a Platinum psu the Platinum version of the Seasonic Focus Gold is only a extra £20 more than the Gold version.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

To do the above put all your components in the basket and click on view basket. In the bottom right corner you will see BBCode. Click on that and copy the text that appears and then post it in your thread on the forums.

A 750w psu is overkill though and you could easily run with a 550w psu even with a GTX2070. I use a BeQuiet Straightpower 11 550w psu in the pc in my siggy along with 12x 120mm fans, 4x 200mm fans, 2x fan controllers, 2x Temp monitors and a couple of leds for the reservoir. It only pulls 128-275w at the wall while gaming (depending on the game) and the very max I have managed to make it pull was 367w at the wall while using OCCT's psu torture test. Idling/ internet browsing is 72w at the wall. I have live power draw displayed in one of my fan controllers which is how I know what is being drawn all of the time.

Thanks pastymuncher!
I did use https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator but I guess I am paranoid about psu as Ive had issues in the past.
Also I did not know you could run faster RAM than your cpus max... That will handy tho If I get 3200, if I ever want to overclock the cpu

Those psu calculator sites are wildly inaccurate. A 550W/650W is usually more than enough for a single gpu setup.

A cheaper case, psu and SSD would also mean you could fit an R7 2700/X in there.

If you state your overall budget then we might be able to spec something better.

@Lee .. Yeah the power calculator gave me like 400 and something , but I chose a PSU way above cus I am paranoid about that from previous experience.
I dont really have a budget, but I guess around €1000, less than €2000, seems about right to me..

I want a good pc for doing a lot of CPU/memory/hdd intensive tasks, and multitasking. I could be streaming, recording video, running video editor, and also compiling and making builds. Time where I'm waiting for the machine to do stuff is wasted time.
And also I want to play games on it... But I mainly play indie games, and only check out the AAA ones out of curiosity to look at the graphics
I dont mind keeping my own GPU and waiting till either I get VR, or CYberpunk 2007 comes out before I upgrade it.
