Yes, because MS have never helped computing along in any way and they are a totally evil company that strangles kittens. Besides, he never mentioned anything about web development, he just said he'd like to kill me for my choice of browser.
It's a browser - it helps me browse the internet perfectly fine thank you very much and in the extremely rare occasion that I get a problem I also have Firefox as a backup.
Why do you think he wants to kill you because of your browser choice? It's not an anti Microsoft statement, it's because IE is a pain in the ass to develop for.
If I was king, you'd already be dead.

do you use IE9 because your too damned lazy to change to something else?
if yes, you are saved. if no then you would be sentenced to death
Pretty much, in fact I think I'm still on IE8 as I'm so lazy I cannot be bothered to upgrade. I can't even be bothered to find out what version I have. I do have Firefox, too, but I can't be bothered to find out how to import the favourites and then, well, import the favourites.
tumbling Google and murder, this thread has it all!
Now someone get an overly used Meme in here and were complete.
Firefox > file > import. Job done, your life is now saved from the Nazi posse that is the anti IE crowed.

Oh Jesus Christ, just tell me what browser is fashionably geek-chic, doesn't lead to bunny rabbits being made to be sad in any way, supports third-world growth, doesn't lead to second-hand smoke inhalation, works against the dangerous spread of vajazzles, is a conveniant platform for developers to use and can be easily recycled by most UK councils and I'll use it just to shut you all up!
There's nothing geek-chic [sic] about it. There's also none of that other crap about it either. IE is literally single handedly responsible for slowing down the rate of improvement of the WWW and countless intranets around the world. I am not making this up. We are fully justified in our hatred for it. A *lot* of money has been wasted because MS do not follow the standards that the rest of the world use, and try to make their own standard that is un-documented and only works with their software.
