Some of you guys may of seen it on facebook, but Id thought I would post on here.. Amazing how your brain duplicates the image but in colour.

That's scary. Makes you wonder what's going on in your brain / subconscious.

I see an attractive brunette, American, maybe with a touch of Asian about her, woman. Maybe some American newsreader type. Sometimes she kind of side on and sometimes front facing.

It's not your brain, it's your eyes.

The cones are rods are "overloaded" for the colours you're looking at so that when you look against a white background the other colours appear more vibrant.

EDIT: Appears what I heard is unconfirmed as they don't know exactly what causes it but how it was described to me made sense at the time - especially since it's so easily predicted.

The effect is called Afterimage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afterimage) and the example I was shown was pretty straight forward. Look at something red for ages then look at a white wall. Because you "red" receptors were overloaded the white wall will look yellow as the pure white RGB mix will lack red giving you just blue and green.
