I think you've missed the point.
It's not a question of religion. To my knowledge no actual religion advocates violence.
The issue is the scumbag who's claiming to speak in the name of a religion and is using/abusing the position to further his own ends.
Doesn't matter if it's logical, sensible, just as long as he can put a twist on it to get someone to give him something he wants, whether it's respect, money, power etc.
Unfortunately that's just human nature....

But it just says a message was posted on an Islamic website. Unless I've missed something, it doesn't name the website, nor specify who posted the message (the site owner, an individual on a forum etc).

So? The thread is clearly "founded" and uses a reliable source as the evidence.
The OP then asks if this is a joke. I'm not sure what you think the thread is, perhaps you've jumped the gun.
