This really is like school. People here are worried they will look "poor" driving an old car? I feel I've out grown this forum and I'm only 20.

Fox you ruined this thread by starting to tear someone apart because their opinion was different to yours.

What's worse, looking poor or looking pretentious? What's hip these days? ;)

I enjoy driving, but drive a banger.

I also enjoy PC's etc yet don't buy a new PC more than every three years.

I have kept my childhood fascination with aircraft, yet don't have a pilots licence.

I hear that some people enjoy going through shops, even if they do not intend to buy something.

And did he say he hated driving ?

If someone is buying a car because of what they think other people will think then perhaps they need to evaluate exactly who is the sad one imo.

Well lets see.

Credit crunch: By driving high mileage second hand cars, you have not injected cash into car manufacturers, resulting in lower sales/profit.

Global warming: 3L engine = global warming OH NOEZ too many CO2's!

wohoo, I assume this is your ST? I'm considering changing my mk2 Focus for yet another Focus, but this time being the ST. Will I be astounded at the difference between a standard 2l Focus and the ST? What kind of mpg are you seeing? I do 60 motorway miles per weekday and see around 35mpg currently.

Still considering lots of other cars including 3 series and Z4... as I don't really have a need for more than 2 seats.


Or I may buy a Prius, as tax is a big killer these days! ;)

I really need to drive one, I think they look great, they seem to have a comfortable interior, the 3L version has plenty of power and most of all.... it won't make me look poor. :D
 
No, just in the sense that driving without the roof on is awesome.

Not really that comfortable though, suspension is very hard.

I simply stated i keep considering buying a banger as keeping a car nice is difficult these days. I probably will never do so though because i don't want to drive nor be seen in said banger.

Atrox claims he has banger and does as above. I ask if he is bothered that he must look pretty rubbish if he drives about in a banger and wonder if he cares what people think and also that he must never get to drive nice cars.

He says he doesn't give a toss about cars

I ask why he's on this subforum then.

hardly like i'm telling him i'm going to kill his family is it. If you're not interested in cars then why would you be posting in an enthusiast car subforum.

And like I said, I didn't realise one needed an anorak to post his opinion about his experience of driving and owning a vehicle. But in future, stick about so I can run it past you first and see if it meets the criteria.

Everyone can be a **** sometimes, regardless of whether fox is or not, I tend to just ignore them and crack on with my own thing :)

Mate I really feel for you. It's horrible when things like this happen, and it really is an innevitability that whenever you have something nice, some moron strolls along and ruins it.

I drive an escort (contain yourself fox) and I absolutely love her, if she received any damage I'd be devistated, and she cost me a grand. You must be gutted :(

She'll fix up tho :) and people like this will never own nice things.
