Found this and amazed by the RMA service of Western Digital

Am I missing something impressive? It says it took them 8 days from logging the RMA to getting the new drive which was then DOA and they had to replace it again (twice I beleive?) albeit they paid the freight on the next two.

When my samsung went last month, I shipped the old drive off and had a replacement the day after (2 days from RMA) and it worked.

So what's so impressive about WD awful RMA service or are we being sarcastic?

What impresses one may be a matter of fact for another which is why balance/stability/self-confidence is when there is no worship nor saviourship/denigration. i had the exact same service when i got a 1TB F1 that was DOA

Guy filed for RMA, got sent the drive first (replacement) then sent the failed drive back.

All my F1s are now WD Black/Green or Mybook essentials so I am ultra happy :d

Always had samsungs but the F1 is getting hell in the forums over that SMART error that may or may not turn out to be nothing.

I'm prone to this as well. That said, I've lost 4 sticks of ocz ram and one of their power supplies and still think they're awesome. Says good things about their rma support I think

Lost an asus motherboard, 8 weeks later I'm with Gigabyte. Not going back to Asus for a while yet
