OT: What was he in the Army? That uniform looks very posh :)

That looks like the standard issue No.1 uniform issued to all squadies for ceremonial duties and parades.
Its sickening to read about this sort of thing i hope he makes a full recovery and can return to active duty and hopefully the scum will be caught and given a proper punishment

That really is awful, how anyone can justify these kinds of actions in their own mind is beyond me!!!

My thought are with you, hope he recovers speedily.

The picture says it all to me,remind me of when my dad discharged himself after two days and still looked like your cousin does in that picture

Hope the scum get what they deserve(my dad got took by two with golfclubs and one got community service other got a fine). Hope he pulls through it all and makes as good a recovery as you can and to be able to see who did it. :(

The cap badge and shoulder lapels look like those of the Royal Engineers.

Spot on Von, he is in the Royal Engineers. Apparantly the group of people who attacked him were arguing amongst themselves and my cousin and his friend were walking past when they then got jumped from behind. His friend got off lightly with a few cuts a bruises, but Chris is in a bad way my Dad tells me and from looking at the pictures it seems so. He has major swelling to the brain and keeps drifting in and out of consciousness, we can only hope he hasnt suffered any long term/brain damage as from the very little that has come out of him since November 5th he hasnt been able to remember anything. I think we may be going up to Hartlepool tommorow or in the next couple of days to support my aunt and uncle.
I've just opened up The Sun and The Mirror to find an article in both with pictures. I hope the 6 people they've let go on bail 'fess something up real soon.

They should be done for attempted murder not assault or any of that BS, lock em up and throw away the key. Quite happy to pay for more prisons if it means scum like this don't get away with attacking one of our soldiers

Hopefully there is CCTV footage and good witness statements from people who saw and from his mate who was with him.

I just wonder if some irate colleagues of Chris will take umbrage to this .....

It wouldnt surprise me as most of the lads are probably more like family than colleagues and tbh its probably the only way this scum will get any sort of real punishment

really sorry to hear this. its a disgrace how a man can risk his life for the freedom of this country and on return be beat up by his own it is terrible.

And they confirmed Christopher had regained consciousness in his bed, at the University Hospital of Hartlepool, long enough to say: "I'm a serving soldier of Her Majesty the Queen - what am I doing here?"

That makes him sounds like a great lad :)

sorry to hear that buddy. It's horrific without a doubt. The world is a disgusting place. I'm 22 and i'm dreading to a certain extent bringing my child up (when the day comes) as life is pretty grim right about now and doesnt look like it's going to get any better!

generally depressing really.
