Getting my hands dirty :D

I'm currently studying towards a foundation degree in Aircraft Maintenance and EASA Part 66 modules at the City of Bristol College. If I pass all the EASA modules and gain 2 years of practical experience I will be able to sign a document called a CRS (certificate of release to service) which basically states the aircraft (commercial) is fit to fly.

Anyway, the past week I've been at Gloucestershire airport as part of my course requires me to complete certain tasks before I leave.

So here is what I've been doing of late:

Our CF6 engine, you'll find these on DC10's:

On Tuesday I was tasked with removing a part from the spoiler system of the aircraft and inspecting it and making sure it was all in working order.

Today I was tasked with removing the wheels off the left hand undercarriage leg and servicing the bearings for the wheels:

I've also taken the decision to most likely join the RAF in July/August time as an aircraft technician instead of pursuing a career in commercial aviation.
Tomorrow I'm off down the Armed Forces Career Office to speak to someone about the fine details :D

I would love to have a job fixing planes. From them pics it looks like quite an interesting job to have.

I've also just found out on another forum I use that another member was/is an Avionics
Technician in the RAF for 15 years (I'm looking into the Mechanical Technician route), so
I'll be picking his brains for info :D

It does turn very easily and keeps spinning for a long time. As far as I know it would work if it had all the necessary ancillaries.

same thing really, cause hydraulis fluid makes parts move and blood carries oxygen to the muscles to help make them move! am i right? or is my biology teacher a gay? :confused:

The sexual orientation of your teacher has nothing to ddo with that fact you are wrong (have you been having birthday drinks?)
