-== This Week Only ==-

Are the gift vouchers emailed as 'codes'?
If so, can these codes be given to someone else so they can use it?
And how are they used? Entered as coupon code at checkout?

Is it just me or do the 'this week only' deals seem a little flat and unappealing of late ? It's been ages since i've seen anything on there that i've thought 'gotta' have it, just too good to pass up'?

Nope not just you. Would be nice to see a few other random products discounted besides the generic AMD/Intel CPU and 500GB/1TB HDD etc.

I used to look forward to wednesday DOTW...oh £10 off a cooler ill buy that just in case or £10 of mouse oh well ill get it and use as spare. Now it more like oh £2 off meh not fussed the effort and as said flat but thats the way it goes :(

When i see a sale or some sort of thing, i expect like 10-20% off a price, not like £5!

£5 off + free P&P is not bad really but some etailer are still cheaper even with DOTW, im sure they will get back to doing decent DOTW soon...then ill spend my money while not ever using the goods like i used to lol.right guys? :)

I will not order from any place that charges for delivery. I don't care how much it is, all these £4-£7 delivery charges add up in the end.

Free delivery is a norm now online, any place not offering it, is a no go for me. Not like OCUK some small business.

When i can order a item costing less than £1 from place and get free delivery, that says it all. Ive spent thousands online, all at places that offer free delivery.

I'll be honest I probably wouldn't buy from OcUK if it wasn't for the free delivery I get. Competitors are usually £5-10 cheaper (sometimes less, sometimes more), but the saving in shipping covers this difference, so it only makes sense to keep buying from one place. And I like that OcUK have a community forum which is truly a priceless service/tool to have access to, and which obviously runs purely at their cost. So you can't complain they don't take care of their customers, it pays to be loyal :)

By the way, no way should next day delivery be free, infact cost of that could & should go up slightly.

I like the idea most adopt, standard delivery 3-5 days is free. Next day delivery say £10, 1-3 delivery £5.

Ok i know im not on dragons den:D

But free delivery plays a big part in how a online shopper will shop! surveys prove it;)

It's written therefore it must be true...

Free delivery may have reduced profits initially, however as more orders are inevitable I'm sure it was a worthwhile blip in the grand schemes of things.

My point exactly. Take the initial hit then sit back and watch the increased orders flood in.

It's exactly the same tactics the company I worked for used 15 years ago.

Personally I think it's great business sense.

Can't OCUK take into consideration overseas customers that order from Europe.

I'm not talking about free delivery but maybe reduced the cost... paying only 50% of the delivery for example.

Taking myself as an example, being from Malta, the delivery of a whole tower would be about £120 which is a lot.

Anything can be done about that?

^ The problem is the weight. Yesterday at work I sent out 2 parcels to Malta, 10kg + 2kg, and the cheapest reliable, guaranteed method I could find cost £45 for both. A full system with all part fitted would probably 2-3 times as much as that so the cost seems fairly in-line. You don't want your system sent by a non-reliable courier so it's safest to pay the charge. It is coming from hundreds/thousand of miles away afterall.

I have to say, prices are quite high here. However, it's not always just the product you're paying for. You're also paying for their good service! The community here is good and I now get free shipping. So I can't really complain unless the prices are too high against their competitors.
