......A CANON 5D MARK 2.

There is no point to this thread. I just want to tell everyone how happy I am to finally get my hands on one of these cameras. Unfortunately it's only for hire as I'm covering a wedding. The Mk2 will be combined with my 24-70L and my 5D Mk1 with the 135L.

Is it sad that I'm looking forward to carrying two cameras? PEW PEW PEW!

Sorry, it's been a long day :(

Where are you getting it from and how much?

I used one a few weeks ago but didn't know the guy very well so didn't want to tinker with the settings too much.

I did do a little sex wee though.

Tip, if you are using Auto ISO, in AV mode, watch out for it dropping to 1/30th when at 24mm when shooting people. :)

Have fun !

Jake will be happy :D

You'll enjoy using it. And more importantly enjoy yourself at the wedding :)

Hopefully :)
Although 12 hours of shooting will, I'm sure, get a little tiresome!

I could go and buy one right now, in cash. But I know it's a bad idea :(

It would be a better idea to buy me one. I'll pay you back in 2 months.

The camera is £122 for weekend hire from http://www.hireacamera.com/

That might seem a lot, but without it I couldn't do this wedding, which in turn is bring me in considerably more than the £122 camera hire :)

I've only ever been massively underwhelmed when using a 5D mark II.

Interesting. What do you shoot with now?

Also, what lenses were you using with the 5D2, and what kinds of things were you shooting?

Cheers for the tip :)

90GB? damn man, how many images do you shoot?

Well, technically i don't carry all 90G as some of them are 2G and 1G cards.

I start the day with a single 8G card in each 5Dii

That leaves 7 x 8G in the wallet = 56

and 3 x 4G cards

So i carry 84G with me on the day.

I shoot between 1600 upwards, but i start at 9am, finish at 12. I haven't filled it ALL up yet but i allow rooms for card failing as I had a 8G card died on me once when i was in Hong Kong.

change of subject - looks like you shot at Walcott Hall (the triptych of the little girl).. amazingly whacky venue - did you venture into the wood to the chapel/caravan/tents etc?

Sure looks like it - but I guess a lot of the venues are very `samey`- always nice to get one of the more quirkier ones.

Good luck! Covered a wedding weekend just gone. Brutal - my legs killed when I got in at 1.30 am and on Sunday! Are you assisting or the lead?

Top Tip - if you're going to be doing a lot of weddings purchase one of these or something similar http://www.cameraslingers.net/ - I need to get one but have seen one in action and it looks the business. :)
