Those about to die - Prime

I tried it, got about 30mins in and turned it off.

seemed really boring and not worth it when theres other shows that already did the same kinda thing much better.

you'd never get the spartacus style of writing from modern writers imo

The strain series had a cool flashback too
I wish that would have lead to a spin off series

*exhale* Forcing my way through it and up to episode 8, so will complete this week. It's not great. Production-wise it's all over the place. Story-wise; quality of actors / narrative / scripts are all over the place. CGI is atrocious.

Who on earth green-lights these things is beyond me. I should really re-watch and complete the Rome Series.

We are up to e3 and I think we will persevere. It is not amazing, but the setting is fun. Cheesy entertainment.

Some weird choices that are a bit off putting. The numidians are cast as subsaharan Africans with dreadlocks, when they were north African like modern Algerians/Tunisians.
The cgi for the lion is terrible!

I've done that series about 4 or 5 times now, every time it's been as good as I remember and I always enjoyed it as much as the very first watch.

Shame they had to rush the pacing though because they couldn't get another season

Finished this and it was pretty good. Not epic nor was it Spartacus but it was enjoyable enough. Set season 2 nicely.

I'm quite enjoying it. Aside from the dragon scenes I'm finding HOTD a bit of a drag (cough) and weirdly I'm enjoying this more. It's hokey and ropey but has its charm.

I’m only about half way through but overall I’m enjoying the show, acting is okay and the overall story isn’t overly complex but sets the scene nicely. I’ll happily watch a 2nd season when it comes around.

Polished this off my watchlist, better than I thought it was going to be apart from the amount of overuse of green screen with not great CGI behind the characters.

Scratched the itch Spartacus has left after all these years and parts of it felt like a homage to Gladiator.

Heh, I've still to watch the final two episodes but yeah the CGI was incredibly awful, especially the carriage races with the riders running at half the FPS than the rest of the image!
