Those REALLY old websites...

i still remember the glory days of freeserve chat, and yahoo chat too, until it became spam city.

www.homestead.com was where i made my first website. it was a slipknot fan site haha, ive grown out of it thankfully. but what was cool is that i was contacted by random house publishers and given 30 copies of slipknots new book before it hit the shelves to give away on the site as a competition prize, lol, as if i ever gave those bad boys away lol.

big businesses were crazy when the net first became headline news a lot.

i also remember making a few quid from the affliate scheme of blackstar on that site too, good times, especially when i was only like 15 lol.

www.somethingawful.com/jeffk came slightly later but was fairly unique at the time. I'm not sure exactly how original it was back then (I'm sure someone will have an example predating it) but one thing is for sure, the style has been ripped off by the internet at large. Look at the kind of language used on the 'net these days, even these modern parody shows like PurePwnage owe something to Jeffk.

OH NO!!! AOL LAWYAR ATTACK!!! AAAGGGGGGH oh pleas saev me JESUS and buzz off yuo slobbargoat!!! hahahahahahhahaha fagot1

Hehe, yeah, Mahir "I kiss you". The "cyber celebrity" of 1999 (back then on xoom.com iirc).

Oh how I hated browsing all those advert and badly written java spam infested pages on xoom and geocities...
