The Samsung 850 Pro 2TB released in 2015 and is an MLC (2 bit per cell, NAND flash) based SSD. I recently brought a 2nd hand (appears to be in decent condition) one to replace a (potentially) dying BX500.
Is the Samsung 850 Pro still considered to be a really good drive, or are some drives (like NVME) considered to provide better real world performance?
I noticed that features like 'Rapid mode' provide little improvement (sometimes none) in real world tests, like copying various file types in Windows, see link:
