Thoughts and Recommendations

yeah, did think that, but NVidia always seemed better (Sure the AMD fans will disagree).
I am completely out the loop with AMD cards, so any suggestions what is comparable to
GTX 980
GTX 980ti
??

Based on price, seems the ti competes with the fury x.
A quick look though shows the NVidia to be a superior card.

Can anyone comment on the above?
Fury X over a GTX 980ti?

Fury would compete with the 980.

The 980 Ti would probably be faster, but you'd save a lot on the monitors, and I say that as a 980 Ti owner.

Any comments on parts?

Any better rated MB's for similar prices?
Is a sound card needed with current level of onboard sound?
GPU recommended? Will the 970 GTX run 2 x 1440 monitors, or would I need to stretch for a 980 GTX?
Good all round 27" monitors?

I'm not convinced about the sound card requirement if you're driving some externally powered speakers. As long as the Asus has the correct number of outputs it should be good enough.

If you were to use pricey headphones then a separate amp would be recommended.

Seems my build in continuously taking turns and changing. Good thing about forums and feedback from people who have more knowledge / experience.

Will need to do some thinking / digging and decide if I reduce monitor size to 24" and get a g-sync with NVidia or go freesync and AMD.
Just need to overcome my own historic opinion that NVidia is superior.

As for sound cards, checked on the Audio side of the forum, and recommendation seems to be that a Sound Card will make a difference (Not huge) but worth the £60ish for a SB Z.

Too many questions now.
28" or 24"
1440 or 4K
60Hz or 144Hz
G-sync / Freesync / none

All impacting on price and options available.
Car parts are soo much easier to spec!:confused::confused:
