Thoughts on a mouse...

Hi Guy's, Am looking for a new mouse, am currently using a cheap logitech thing that I picked up for a tenner months ago that for casual use has done me okay,

I wouldn't say I find it uncomfortable to use but I have quite large hands so am looking for something with a bit more comfort for those long gaming sessions...

Not to fussed on price though am not made of money so would prefer to keep the cost down as much as possible,

What do you recommend?

Bought one of these, heard around the forum it was a great mouse, pretty cheap to, and i can tell you, it was definatly worth the money.

hi mate , the razer deathadder is an excellent all round mouse, ive had mine for years and its never failed me. its nice looking, comfortable and great for all gaming

MX518 is the Ultimate mouse in my opinion & it's cheap. :cool:

If you're on a tight budget, the Logitech MX518 is very good, and can be found for less than £20. If you have a little more, the Razer Deathadder is a very good mouse, and widely recognised as a great mouse for gaming by many professionals. The Roccat Kone is also a very popular mouse with gamers for a similar price of ~£40. Moving slightly higher up the price range, I can personally recommend the Razer Imperator for just over £50. Very comfortable, looks good, very good laser sensor and good for people with larger hands.

I've been using the G5 for years and although it's really good/responsive etc, it's just a little too small in my giant claw lol so the G9 being a f'ing big mouse (with a replacable sleeve should you want it to be a tadge smaller...) should do us shovelhanders fine

I was also looking at one of the MX518`s,
Good for me i work in the same building as Logitech so mite pop up and have a play in there lab, ;-)

MX518 looks nasty, the extra buttons get in the way. MX500 here and happy with it - I believe it's the same mouse, minus the paint job and the buttons.

The imperator has skipping and z axis issues.

g9 isnt a big mouse at all, its middle of the road for mice.

funny thing is, the g5 is the same size as the mx518. ie, it's bigger than a g9

there are no extra buttons. the mx500,510 & 518 are all identical feature-wise. and the 518 looks great in the flesh

After seeing this thread, it got me interested in the Logitech MX518 and wanting a change of pace from my current Gigabyte Laser mouse.

A quick google had found me that the famous retail giant is selling the Logitech MX518 at £16.99, so I bought one and awaiting for its arrival now

With the fact that the G500 etc ha come down in price to £30 its not much more than a 518 and more buttons = fun funs. Also is laser if you prefer it/dont prefer it to optical for whatever reason
