Thoughts on Sennheiser PC161 headset

My question is, what if you want to plug the headphones into your Z-5500 control center located on your desk, and the mic around the back of your computer? There is about 4 feet between them, not 4 inches. What can be done about this?

You could get a mini-jack extension lead (also called a stereo extension lead). OcUK don't seem to do them, and I won't link for obvious reasons, but they ought to be easy enough to find.

If its like my Senns, you can cut the little plastic holder/clamp around the wire by the 2 jacks (which is there for support for the wire), and then just split the cabling, as you would for any other headphones :)
Doesn't take much work.

I bought this headset today. I had some in-ear headphones before, and I'm not really sure if I like these. One of the problems with these is I find them very quiet. I have to have them on maximum on my Z-5500 to get good sound. For my in-ear headphones I only had to have it on 50%. Is this normal?

Try plugging them directly into your sound card, or what ever your speakers are currently plugged in to, instead.
