Thoughts on the new GTX?

i was debateing posting it in another post but desided to make my own as they are all swamped with GT talk.

What do you think about the new GTX?

Are you waiting out for the GTX?

When do you think it will launch?


Im hoping for befroe christmas but i have a fealing it will either launch in december with the GTS or january. I hope its not after christmas as i wont be able to play any christmas games on the current pc i have and i wanted to put either a GTX or two GTS's in my new system.

No new GTX you say? That seems suprising. Every nvida range has a GTX in it. can you imagine just a GT and a GTS, no GTX or Ultra

i gues there could be a GT2 coming out.

Nope im not talkign about the 9800. Just talking about the new G92 revisions of the current G80s

Lmao. In that case, I wont be so happy that I just got my G80 GTX . To be honest though, the performance increase can't be more than 10%?

Lmao. I think if a new GTX does come out its by far more likely to be more then 10%. The new GTS is said to be on par with the current GTX and possibly ultra style. It all depensd how much those extra shaders make a difference on the GT.

But what lets them both down is their 256bit memory interface instead of the current GTS with 320bit. The GTX and Ultra is 384bit.

I recon though if they make a GTX it could be very fast indeed. If not ill get two GTS's in sli and be done with it.

I hope it does arrive as im going to be buying a new card before chrismas. The 780i mobo should be around to with PCIE-2 but thats really the only difference so not sure if its worth the extra cost. Depends how much it is.

well why ask then?. it's the kind of discussion where people will just throw random numbers around for 50 posts or so and by the end of it all...we still know nothing. *i* think that *i* will most probably have one. but i know no more than you do.

Point is i started a post to try and find out more. You came in saying you cant see any point in disscusing it. therefoer there was no paoint in you posting because you dont want to discuss it so dont bother posting instead of just trashing my post just becuse you think your so high and mighty.

there has to be more refreshers as at the moment the gfx card market has stopped dead due to the GT.

Pritty much what i think. The question in my mind is, will they be before chritmas. It would be logical to release the GTS and GTX at the same time. And possibly an ultra?

Hate them. They make my teeth feel funny.

If i currenty had a GTX id just keep it. Or perhaps sell for a GT and pocket some money if i got a good deal and had a smaller resolution. But as i dont i think i might as well wait to see what comes up.

Although information on the revised GTS is scarce there's even less to suggest that there's a new GTX on the way so personally I wouldn't hold my breath that one will be on the way

The situation as I know it is that a revised G92 based 8800GTS will be out next month with a whole new series (9800) arriving early next year (February/March)

i think it would be stupid to release another gtx maybe dual gx2 i think they making them already... january?

While in some ways it seems logical and quite possible. It also seems strange that there would only be a GT and GTS. What would happen to all GTXs and Ultras? They would be harder to get hold of and perhaps the ignorant people of the bay comunity would pay even more for them!

8800 series GT and GTS will be revisions.

There will be no revisions for the GTX/Ultra.

These will be the 9800 series G92, Starting off with 9800GTX, then a month or so down the line, the 9800Ultra will appear.

Expect the 9800GTX to hit before Christmas.

Id be amazed at the new 9800GTX coming out before christmas, happy but amazed. Tbh the new 9800 will never come out till ATi get a decent card out. Theuy are already serposidly releasing cards which arn't as fast as the current GTX. Could be a while. Early next year i say.

Im contemplatign two GTS in SLI but i can just see that 3 months down the line the new 9800 comes out for about 450 quid (which wiould have been the same cost of the two GTS) and totaly smash them
