Thoughts on the Sound Blaster ZX ?

I've not used an Asus card so hard for me to compare, but I've had my Z from release and find it to be a very good reliable card. Sound quality is great, with good speakers definitely a notch up from on-board.

My only issue is with Creative Labs driver releases being few and far between. Fortunately I've not really had any issues other than on the add reboot the card not being detected with Windows 8.1 which apparently is driver related.

Well I've tried the zx on another friends rig and then compared it the built in SupremeFX Formula on the Asus Maximus VI Formula and to be very honest the SupremeFX sounded better using the same headphones on each, Not sure if this is down to drivers though.

With the Sound Blaster X-Fi software it's probably a close run thing, for me the sound card sounded a little better. But as with all things like this it's very subjective.
