So i'm making my move to intel, thoughts and opinon? Just a note, Im only running a 1080p monitor and mostly only playing BF3 & FSX. I may be interested in a dual GPU setup later down the line...

Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail [BX80623I72600K]
Asus P67 Sabertooth Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION ** [90-MIBEDA-G0EAY0KZ]
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9) [CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9]
XFX HD 6970 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE BattleField 3 PC Game [HD-697A-CNFC]
Corsair Obsidian 650D Gaming Midi Tower - Black [CC650DW-1]
Corsair Hydro H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366/LGA2011/AM2/AM3) [CWCH100]

So I have a 700W OCZ PSU, and two storage drives, might be looking into an SSD as a boot drive, my budget is about 1K give or take. I also went for the P67 chipset because im a fan of Asus' TUF series motherboards.

So please tell me if you agree/disagree =)

For a gaming PC a i5 2500K is the chip to have as hyperthreading which is the i7 main benefit is useless - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/288?vs=287

A P67 motherboard is old, a Z68 board has extra features (Lucid virtu/Quicksync and SSD caching) they also allow you to use the onboard GFX in the CPU if you have a GFX card problem,

All the above boards are Gen3 with a Ivybridge CPU when they are released.

So I have a 700W OCZ PSU, and two storage drives,

Are the two drive SATA? what about a DVD drive?

I have two WD SATA2 caviar drives and a Samsung DVDRW. I'm not sure what brand of SSD to get, people seem to have firmware problems with some. Also what are your thoughts on the 650D and XFX 6970 ? Thanks !

Case choice is personal, the 650D is very good with lots of room and some nice cable management inside.

The SSD's to get are the Corsair Force3 or Crucial M4 if you just want a 60-64Gb drive to run the OS and a game or two on it,

That looks great thanks, I think I will go for a 128gb SSD too. Also what are your opinions on ASROCK motherboards ? I don't really know too much about them

I use to have one (Asrock Z68 extreme 4, not the Gen3 version) and it was my first Z68 board, obviously I thought it was good at the time, but have switched to a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4 and the difference in build quality and feel is obvious.

Asrock have a 2year warranty with the board needing to be sent to Netherlands, Gigabyte have a 3year UK based warranty.

You can find user feedback of the current Asrock extreme4 Gen3 here - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18296625
