Thoughts on this (USA litigation)

Its crazy!
You cant win, if a group of people had stood around watching all the news reports would say its a sorry state we're in when no one helps.
I think they need to review their good samarton law.

Next weeks american news - Man burns to death in a car wreckage as a passer by was too scared to move him incase of legal re-percussions.

What are the extent of the injuries caused?

For example you're not supposed to move anybody with suspected spinal injuries, so dragging them out of the vehicle onto the floor a half a yard away in case it blows up is an extremely silly/careless thing to do.

I think the moral of the story is don't try to be a hero unless it's absolutely necessary and a matter of life and death.

In this country you just have to meet the standard of the "reasonable rescuer" which is ridiculous I know and obviously down to the courts subjective decision. You will only be found contributory negligent if you do something extremely wrong as courts are always very unwilling to come down on rescuers.

This happened a while ago, I was incredibly surprised this "friend" had tried to sue her, now they're hearing the case, what a complete farce. I supposed she would have preferred to have blown up?

I know the car probably didn't but no-one knew that.

The woman who sued is a complete cow bag with no regard for human life. The court that hears it is a complete and utter shambles of a justice system. I'm surprised anyone gets out of bed in the morning in America. I would make everyone I pass in the street sign legal waivers.
