not sure if youll get pwm function?? as the zalman fanmate just alters the voltage. ive got it powering a panaflo 120x38mm fan using180ma & 2.16watt at 1700 rpm pushing 68 cfm.
Pretty sure it won't work, because the only signals the Akasa PWM splitter will send to the motherboard connector (which is what you'll connect the fanmate too) is the RPM and PWM signal not the voltage as the PWM splitter draws it's power directly from the 4 pin and sends it directly to the fans relying on PWM to moderate the speed.
well I'm scrapping that idea as the Zalman Fan Mate dosnt have the wattage or ampage capacity to handle two let alone three of the scythe kaze jyuni 1900rpm slip stream 120mm fans that i'm using, so its back to the drawing board.
it does seem that an awful lot of the fan controllers even the expensive ones cannot handle multiple fans on a single channel.
maybe one of these.. sunbeam Rheobus but then I'm not too sure about being able to turn the fans all the way down to 0 volts.
anyway I'm a a bit stumped, what i need is to control the 2 radiator fans (possibly being upgraded to 4 fans in a push pull config) preferably on one dial and then 3 case fans with on another dial or individually.
This may be of interest. You can build it cheap for as many fans as you need to a molex. You cant use pwm functions though but you could use a SPDT switch and connect the power from five v line and 12v line to get a 2 step fan control. Or you could use a rheostat instead ^^
