Hello,

I am wanting to have a three monitor setup for productivity reasons. I thought I'd ask on here as you all have quite a bit of knowledge on this stuff!

I've been looking around and the cheapest I've found is a AMD Sapphire 6450 which can support three monitors:

However, the monitors I have only have certain inputs, I've got a DVI/VGA, VGA and a HDMI/VGA. I was wondering if this graphics card would work and give me a spanned desktop if I use the correct adapters?

Thanks in advance!

Yes it will as long as you set them up right with the correct cables to match what you have on your monitors.

Also I know this is your first post but you need to remove the link to the item above and maybe link to it directly on the sapphire site as linking to other sellers is not allowed on the forum :)

Maybe use this link ?

This is the Flex detail Link ..

Anthony's absolutely right - looks like that 6450 will work perfectly with your screens.

You'll need to connect the VGA-only monitor to the DVI-I port (the white one) using a DVI-I to VGA adapter or cable, then your HDMI monitor to the HDMI port, and finally your remaining monitor's DVI port to the card's DVI-D port (the black one).

Usually AMD cards can only support 3 screens if they're identical or you're using a DisplayPort ouput on the card. However, Sapphire's FLEX cards are special and can support 3 DVI/HDMI/VGA outputs without needing the screens to be identical, so make sure you buy the FLEX 6450 (which you linked to) and not any other one.

looks like you will need 1x DVI, 1x AVG and 1x HDMI on the card which you will have with a simple DVI to VGA adapter, I'm assuming that the card in question allows all ports to be used at once, in some cards for instance, if you use the HDMI port it will render the DVI disabled. No idea if this is the case with that card but it's worth looking at. you can also use multiple gfx cards in a system last i checked for the same result.

And as anthony has said, no competitors links are allowed, everyone knows about that place but we don't speak its name..

If your screens are of high resolutions a low end card like that may not be the most responsive but I think you should be okay.
