Ok I have an ati 5970 gpu and want to run three monitors but I can only configure two.

Question 1) can three monitors be run at the same time on my gpu?
Question 2) if so, how?

Many thanks

I guess your talking about eyefinity, im looking into this myself so dont know to much about it yet but read something about needing a display port switch (what ever that is )

yes it can. use three of the outputs on the back of the card and configure in ati control panel (Catalyst Control Centre). If not wanting Eyefinity it doesnt matter about active connections etc.

No, you need to connect all the monitors and then just configure them from CCC. If that doesn't work then try to swap the connections around or try configuring everything in windows

Not sure which adapter u will need if not using Eyefinity. When i used Eyefinity it required either an active displayport->DVI or a displayport->VGA adapter.
