I stupidly sent a message to 3 asking them to confirm the end date of my contract and what I was looking to do afterwards. This was to move to M&M100 from M&M300+video minutes on a rolling monthly basis until the N97 and the new iPhone are out so I can compare them and make a decision on which way to go.
Now they didn't give up trying to ring me until I had a serious bust up with them yesterday (or rather what I think was an Indian call centre) The lady on the other end of the phone wanted me to signup there and then to a M&M500 for £15pcm and then she said I could take any handset i wanted free of charge when I wanted to during the contract. Apparently this included the N97 (which would be free) which she said was out in a few months. (I was told by someone in a 3 shop that it won't be until at least Sept as all the N95/N96 have been recalled as well). Now she took the biscuit when I said I wanted to wait and see what the new iPhone was like and she told me that I could have that free of charge as well
Now at that point, I big warning light went off inside my head saying that this is a selling tactic and I told her quite simply what I was going to do but she kept on about signing up to this M&M500 for £15 and free handsets. Quite frankly I didn't believe her and the more she kept on the more annoyed I got as she would not accept what I wanted to do. In the end I told her in no uncertain terms that if she (or anyone from 3) phone me one more time about it I would terminate my contract with them with immediate effect and go elsewhere and put the phone down on her as she still kept on.
*ohhhhhh* that did annoy me somewhat as I hate selling tactics like that.
However in hindsight I should have got that contract off with the iPhone in writing so I could have demanded one, or at least sued them for breach of contract.
Now this makes me wonder whether I should stay with 3, and whether I should file a complaint with their customer services.
/Rant
