Cut a long story short, but I have a P30 Pro, and with that it is on the 3 network, a network which is usually quite good, however though despite pretty much having everything included, just lately the network seems slow and sluggish - and just the other day there was a network outage at three, thankfully it has now been repaired, but even since then in an area with a fantastic 4G network, it still seems incredibly slow and sluggish........ AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, has anyone else found as of recently that the 3 network is not as fast? And is slow.

I jumped ship years ago (also in Nottingham). Their coverage indoors was just terrible. I've moved over to Voxi/Vodafone, and it's been good.

Ive was with 3 for 20+ years but just got sick of the signal being so bad. Picked up a Lebara SIM (Voda) for cheappp and it's a lot better.

I find it rubbish. Really bad. Just moved to O2. Even at max 5G signal when I was visitng central London, stuff just wouldn't work

I don't rate O2 much.

I was with virgin that used ee network signal was amazing wherever I went, then Virgin sold out to O2 and since the switch coverage hasn't been anywhere near as good.

I want to go back to Ee but they are quite expensive.

been using Lyca for 5 months it uses EE network and its been very good, no commitment to contract either just 30 day rolling went with the 85p for 6 months offer only got it to first test it out phone has dual sim slots, I also noticed in supermarkets and shops I wouldnt get signal with 02/vodafone no issues with Lyca not only that its giving 5G

my 02 is due to expire soon so will be moving over to Lyca

Just moved away from them as my local network was becoming obviously slower and issues on a monthly basis.

On top of that their offers for phones and deals just werent up to scratch despite being a customer for 2 decades.

Oh excellent, I thought Lyca was just for international calls and sold by dodgy corner shops in cities. Just checked them out and as you say pretty cheap.

I'm not in. Contract so can switch pretty quick,

Thanks

They've not been good for several years now down south. EE is in my experience the best and fastest network for both 4G and 5G.

I think it depends on where you are for any network. I find Three pretty good most of the time. Annoying though, mobile data went down for a few hours while I was exploring a city unknown to me (Liverpool) and mobile reception said 'emergency only'. I rely heavily on Google Maps, so without internet access, I wasn't able to plan any routes. Weirdly enough though, the GPS was still working, so my phone still knew where I was on the map (marked as a blue dot) so I was able to look up road names and do manual routes.

I pay £8/month for unlimited everything and 25GB data, tied in for 1 year, so it's a superb rate.

Nothing weird about it, GPS does not use mobile data, it's just radio signals from satellites. Also always a good idea to download offline maps when traveling.

I'd avoid Lycamobile and go for 1p instead. Lyca has infamously bad CS, and got hacked in October which they didn't handle well. Plus 1p has all the 4G bands, wifi calling and VoLTE.

I've recently moved from Smarty (Three) to Talkmobile (Voda) whilst threes peak data speeds are higher when signal is good, I find the signal is stronger indoors and generally more consistent on Talkmobile with 5G available in more areas than with Smarty.

My other half recently got an IDMobile (Three) sim and the coverage is terrible, even in central London. It's a 2 year contract so can't cancel, but she is considering just getting another sim only contract and cutting her (sizeable) losses, because the coverage is so bad.

EE is generally the best in my experience. Vodafone happens to be a lot better for my train commute so I have a a Lebara (Vodafone) sim at the moment. It's been years since I had an O2 contract because I have very bad memories of their coverage.

I was with o2 for a brief peiod earlier this year and have since been lumbered with a company phone on o2. The signal is dire, the breaking point for me was when i was in Stafford town centre, had 4 bars of signal yet data speeds were so slow they hit the dizzy heights of 0.02Mbps IIRC

Three was also garbage for me. Ok for mobile 3G at the time with the big data plans but was patchy and awful abroad with that roam like home caper.

EE have been the best for me, but you do pay for the privilege.
