Three weeks of hard work

They are very much linked, GBS bought Robin Hood. My point is that RH have churned out some appalling crap in the past, but the Zero is the first design I've seen that has had some actual engineering applied to it, and they've managed to get the proportions spot on, something that many 7 clones fail at. I hardly think it's coincidental that they've given the Zero it's own web site, to distance it from the RH reputation.

true,

I noticed when i looked that zero site the chassis looks very good. I'm pricing up a widebody westfield at the moment, but a complete zero kit for around £7k looks great value!

Ok to answer some earlier questions

I changed SVA as the g/friend wants to come along and can only get Mondays off,new date is now the 23rd March.

I would have to rush to get the original date and I dont want to do that. This way I get a little more time :)

I do post on the WSCC under the name Johnson

I am 6ft 2 and fit in the car fine. The widebody is 4 inches longer and 4 inches wider than the narrow cars so I think most people can be accomodated comfortably.

Who needs reverse :D

You can build the widebody MX5 based WF for 7K - they make an excellent car esp if you can find a 1.8 MX5.

Most classes need it these days, but Sports Libre is one exception to this IIRC. From the little I know, the MSA's reasoning is incase the car needs to reverse out of the way whilst on-course - but a very weak electric motor ticks the box ;) (Despite being pretty much useless on anything that isn't dead flat!)

Also this season is the stupid Cat rule, and that effects more-less all classes IIRC

Small update I have the SVA in the morning, been working all weekend to get it ready.

Needs a wash and tidy up then its ready. Off to sunday dinner now :D

Looks excellent - good luck with the SVA today :-)

BTW, did it take much faffing to get the rear wheels central in the tub? Mine just didn't want to line up to I left it where it wanted to sit - might re-visit it this winter..

Thanks guys comments appreciated :)

Well it passed first time :D chuffed doesn't come close to how I feel.

Two minor points had to be addressed which were having to move the exhaust clamp slightly and sticking two pieces of U channel trim down on the roll cage.

I would not like to play poker with the examiner because he had one serious game face and didn't give anything away :D

Amigafan I probably spent (no joke) 3+ weeks getting the body fit how I wanted it and I am nowhere near the factory measurements for the back of the body to bulkhead.I gather that's only critical if you fit weather gear(which you also don't have). I also roughly set the rear camber and toe before fitting the body which may have helped.
